Despite the fact that Finn has yet to sleep a single wink in his nursery, it’s one of my favorite spaces in our entire house.
When we found out we were having a boy, it didn’t take long for me to start daydreaming about decorating a boy’s nursery. Since Aven’s room is so girly and whimsical, I was looking forward to going in a totally different direction.
Brandon and I knew we wanted a feature wall where the crib was, so that was our starting point. And then after seeing this amazing nursery on Pinterest, we decided on a rustic woodsy theme, using mostly neutral colors. (I purposely steered clear from elements that make the room look too baby-ish so we can keep most of it for a big boy room later on down the road.)
I am SO happy with how it turned out! And props to my husband for building that awesome wall.

Just like every other room in my house, it’s still a work in progress. The dresser is beat up but it has sentimental value, as it belonged to Brandon’s step-mom Joy, who we lost just over a year ago. I plan to paint it at some point. I’m also on the lookout for the right lamp to put next to the glider, as well as a way to incorporate Finn’s name somewhere in the room. Oh, and we still need to raise the crib mattress back up from when Aven used it! #oops

Hi! I love your nursery, especially your crib. Can you tell me which one at Babies R Us it is? I can’t seem to track it down. Thank you!

Hey Lindsay! Thanks so much. That crib was originally my daughter’s, so it’s about 4 years old now. I think Babies R Us may have discontinued it! I did a quick search and this one is the most similar, although ours is a true white and I can’t tell if this one is or not: https://www.toysrus.com/product?productId=118930226

I’m in love with that wood wall in the nursery. Did u just use regular wood planks and stain all the same classic grey? There is so much depth in the colors.

hey there Andrea! Thank you!! Yes, these are regular wood planks that we stained with the same Classic Grey, but we divided the whole stack into thirds. 1/3 got one coat, 1/3 got two coats, 1/3 got three coats. This created the varied depths of color, but all in the same shade. Hope that helps you!
